Ebates Rocks!

So ebates is amazing! I joined last week and have already earned 16.00 cash back. For what? For doing things I already do. For example, I had to order from Oriental trading Compnay for my son's cowboy birthday this weekend. I went through the Ebates link and earned myself 8% back and free shipping!
I just got Family Fun Magazine for 4.95 for the year and then received 26% cash back form them! I just used the Ebates 5.00 off magazines coupon to get the 4.95 and then will automatically get the 26% back. You need to check it out. With the holidays coming, if you are an online shopper it is silly to not take advantage of this.
Come Novemeber i will have a nice little check deposited in my Paypal account just in time for my birthday! maybe I'll get myself a little treat.

Check it out here

Life with 3; 5 and under

I read this on blog I am in love with (Moss Moments) and it just emphasized the state I am in. I am so sad to possibly/probably going through the "firsts" with Lexi Rose. With all of my children I need to remember this...

Help me understand that there will be NO GRAND ANNOUNCEMENT stating, “Mommy, this is the last time I will sleep in your bed or ask you to push me on the swing or need you to quiz me on my spelling words or want you to play Candy Land with me or tie my shoes or brush my hair or get me a drink.” Remind me never to overlook these moments as ordinary, because as sure as the seasons change, there will be a last time. Summertime Sewing for Lexi

As a little girl I have vivid memories of my Mother and Grandmother sewing clothes for me with matching bloomers. Some of my favorite pictures are of me in my little pigtails running around after my brothers. I am going to start making some of Lexi's clothes and found this awesome tutorial.

Check out her site as it is very inspirational! I already have this ironed and ready to roll!

Now mind you, I am a beginner so mine may not turn out like hers, but we'll see. Look later this week for progress.

Happy Mother's Day! I am off to let some balloons go to heaven with my Mom!

Etsy and Paypal fee calculator

I love this site. i am putting it here for future reference and for all to see. Go check it out!
http://www.rolbe.com/etsy.htm

He breaks down fees and material to have actual cost/profit. I know there are other sources that do this (like my Quickbooks), but this is great for a fast reference.

The 50 States- sing along

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUFeVKeKRQc&feature=player_embedded

So I don't know how to put this clip directly on here, but my son loves music and geography. I showed him the "Animaniacs" version and he fell in love. However, the DVD isn't something I prefer him watching. Then, low and behold, I found a "cleaner" version. He loves it too!

Enjoy

A New Year...A New Idea

New Year…What are your goals???
I just want to take a minute and clarify where the last post came from.

The Holiday Season was odd this year. Maybe it was having Lexi. Maybe it was a culmination of all three kids. I don’t think so though. These holidays jumped up on me. I wasn’t prepared and I refused to spend every night up late making up for my lack of organization during the prior year. 2009 was definitely a struggle for my husband and I. Not our marriage, per say. The apartments took a toll on us financially. The lack of over time (which we had for 10 years prior) was cut. Add in my little princess and two boys in school and we were treading water (barely). Instead of doing something, I guess I hid my head in the sand. I read blogs instead of working on the business. I wasted time instead of cleaning the house. I just coasted.
Well, this needs to end. After much self reflection and a few conversations with my man I have come up with a few goals. Not resolutions, simply some goals to help the family and myself. First, I have a good sized family. To avoid the hassle at the end of the year, we have decided to divide the adults up and purchase or make one gift a month for the adults. Then, come December 2010, I should only be focusing on the smalls. I am also going to do the same thing for my three children. I have always purchased year round. But then I have ended up with a bunch of “stuff” and not something very meaningful. I am a “it’s on sale so I’ll put it away for Christmas and then forget where I put it shopper”. Do you know anyone like that? I already know what I am getting four of the adults. Now I can just watch for prices and get the best deal.
My next goal is work on my home. It is a cluttered disaster. My boys’ rooms are good, but the rest of the house is an embarrassment. We are picking one room a month and organizing, purging, updating it so we are happy. I am not saying it will look like a magazine, but it will be functional and pleasing.
I am also breaking down my Christmas 2010 homemade gifts to a monthly schedule as well. No late nights next December for me!!!
A benefit to this is I will be able to blog my progress. Maybe I’ll even get a follower or two! I am documenting the crazy ass before pics as well as the afters. I hope you’ll grab a cup of coffee, tea, or wine and sit back and watch me finally take control of my life and my surroundings. Blessings to you this year.
